Do you think teachers should be armed? Why or why not?


Teachers should definitely not be armed, it only adds to the danger. Not only is it dangerous, it sets a bad example for the kids. It teaches them that you can solve violence with violence, which is not what we are aiming to teach them.

 "A gun safety course and good aim are not enough to prepare someone for a once-in-a-lifetime gunfight in a crowded school full of vulnerable students. Police and military personnel train strenuously to prepare for these situations, and even they sometimes make a mistake."

 Teachers are meant to teach children new things, they are not police. They weren't taught how to handle these situations, that's what the police are for.
